BIG HEAD TODD & THE MONSTERS
RELEASE “LIVE AT RED ROCKS JUNE 6, 2015”

 ANNOUNCE INITIAL 2016 TOUR DATES
MIKE DOUGHTY TO OPEN ALL SHOWS

Critically acclaimed and platinum-selling blues-rock band BIG HEAD TODD & THE MONSTERS are excited to release a brand-new live album, Live At Red Rocks June 6, 2015. The band (Todd Park Mohr, Brian Nevin, Rob Squires and Jeremy Lawton) have played the famed Colorado venue more than 20 times throughout their 31-year career, but this marks their first official live recording there and third live album overall.

BIG HEAD TODD & THE MONSTERS have also laid out their initial 2016 tour plans, with shows starting January 12 in Salt Lake City, through late March (see dates below). The trek takes them all across the country with special guest MIKE DOUGHTY, and more shows are expected to be added.

“That night at Red Rocks, we couldn’t have been more on,” says guitarist/singer Todd Park Mohr. “When we heard the playback, we knew we just had our best year of live shows ever. We’re having a great run recently and are ready to hit it hard again in January with some brand new songs as well as fan favorites.”  Live At Red Rocks (out 9/18 on Big Records) features 21 killer tracks from throughout their formidable career and showcases them both at their hard-rocking loudest as well as Mohr’s plaintive and sincere best.

BHTM formed in Columbine, CO in 1984 as a trio, with Lawton joining in 2004. They are one of the longest-running groups with all founding members in all rock history, and remain friends today. “We just like making music together,” says drummer Brian Nevin, and bassist Rob Squires agrees. “We started as friends, and are proud to still have this wonderful opportunity to make music for our fans, friends and family.”

Beginning with Another Mayberry in 1989, critics noticed what audiences at BHTM live shows already knew. The All Music Guide praised the “subtlety of Mohr’s lyrics” and his “individual world view.” But it was the follow-up, 1990’s Midnight Radio, that truly established the band as a creative force to be reckoned with. Its popularity led to a major label contract and the release of the platinum-selling Sister Sweetly in 1993. With subsequent albums such as 1994’s Strategem and 1997’s Beautiful World, the band earned a place among the top names on the jam band circuit, solidified by 1998’s Live Monsters, the first official concert recording by Big Head Todd & the Monsters. Riviera was released in 2002, followed by 2004’s Crimes of Passion, of whichThe London Times stated “American rock doesn’t get anymore classy than this.”Later that year, Live at the Fillmore was released to critical praise. All Music Guide called the release, the band’s first with Jeremy Lawton, “loud, proud, and full of righteous raw ambience.”
